FAQ's for Parkland's VBS:
1. May I stay with my child during VBS?
The safety and protection of children in our care is taken seriously. All our volunteers are background checked and have been through our Safe Church training. We limit contact between the children in our care and any person who has not been through our training and background check. If you wish to stay in the building during VBS, we have a special class for parents that you are welcome to join. We do this for the safety of all children in our care.
2. Can my children in different grades stay together?
Our VBS is designed for grade level learning so it is important for all children to stay with the grade they just completed so they can get the most out of their time during VBS.
3. What is the Mission Offering?
Each year during VBS we collect a mission offering to go along with what we are learning. This year our offering will be divided between mission partners here in the United States and International. Every dollar we collect that week will go directly to the missionaries. There is usually a challenge between the boys and girls throughout the week of VBS.
4. How does check-in and check-out work?
>Each night the check-in/registration desk opens at 5:30pm and it is located at door #5. All children, entering Kindergarten thru completion of 5th Grade must be checked-in by an ADULT.
>Our closing Worship Rally starts at 8:20pm Monday-Thursday. Return to door #5 and see a volunteer to check out your child and then wait in the back of the gym until children are dismissed. No child will be dismissed without an ADULT.
5. What is Family Night?
On Friday night we will have a celebration of our week at VBS. They will just have their lesson and then meet back in the gym for a closing Worship Rally. During this time the kids will sing the songs that they learned during the week with a recap of each night’s lessons. Following the Worship Rally, we will have a pizza fellowship for everyone.
